À propos

À propos de MYF

In 1944 and 1945, the Synod of the then Gold Coast District of the Methodist Church directed that the Church's youth work be re-examined. A committee was appointed to recommend a ministry that would meet the needs of educated young people through Christian fellowship, discussions on faith, leadership development, and active service within the Church.

The committee recommended the gradual establishment of Youth Fellowships in Methodist churches, beginning with selected branches led by young people themselves under the guidance of the Church. The first Methodist Youth Fellowship branch was established in Cape Coast in 1946 following the adoption of these recommendations by the Synod.

As the purpose of the Fellowship became widely understood, branches spread across the Connexion. Today, MYF operates at the Connexional, Diocesan, Circuit, and Branch levels, providing young Methodists with opportunities for worship, fellowship, leadership, evangelism, and practical Christian service.

...that they all may be one.
